盐运西社区是广州市越秀区北京街道下辖的社区，位于教育路一带，因东面曾有清代的盐运使司而得名[1]。
地名由来[edit]
盐运使司也称盐运司署，是清代广东管理盐务的机构；社区在其西侧，故名盐运西[1]。街道简介还提到，教育路盐运西街的西式楼房在1930年代是广州较有名的洋楼[2]。
历史沿革[edit]
它起初是1954年设立的维新路街道，之后归入永汉北人民公社，称教育管理区（1960年）；1968年编为北京街第十二居委，盐运西居委会则成立于1998年[1]。民星居委会在2002年与之合并，名称未变[1]。
荣誉[edit]
社区在2022年10月获全国示范性老年友好型社区的命名，2024年11月又被广州市认定为高质量就业社区[1]。
