历史沿革[edit]
社区前身为1954年成立的永汉北街道第八、第九居委会，1960年改属永汉人民公社的西湖管理区，次年公社撤销后恢复原称[1]。1968年后归北京街道，1980年起分设龙藏居委会和惠新西居委会，2002年后者并入龙藏；2014年白沙居居委会东部并入，龙藏之名保留至今[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
大佛寺又名大佛古寺，在惠福东路惠新中街21号，始建于南汉，明代扩建后叫龙藏寺；寺中供奉铜铸大佛，1993年定为广州市文物保护单位[2]。南越国木构水闸遗址在西湖路光明广场负一层，是南越国都城南城墙上水闸的遗存，2000年发现，现存木构部分距今地表约4米[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，社区被广州市住房和城乡建设局确定为广州市2021年绿色社区；2024年11月认定为2024年广州市充分就业社区[1]。
