新和村是新设的行政村，村名取意于村民和睦相处的期望。原先村内共有8姓人家，黄氏始祖惠连于1583年从青桐村迁来，是村内最早的村落。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

黄氏始祖惠连于1583年从泗纶青桐村迁到新和村委境内，是村内最早的村落。1804年，李氏始祖岸然也从青桐村迁来。今有黄、李、梁、陈、许等9姓，黄姓占60%。[1][2]

1974年7月，都门公社设新和大队。1983年撤大队改为新和乡，隶都门区；1986年改设村民委员会，1989年设管理区，1999年复称村委会，属都门镇。2003年9月，都门镇撤销并入泗纶镇，新和村委会设置不变。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，新和村进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
