高垌村是连州镇的一个行政村。村委会前身诞生时，主要村落位于地势较高的垌面，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清初，吴氏始祖由南雄县迁入，形成村委最早的村落；之后陈、张等姓氏陆续定居。[2]

1958年公社化后，高垌地方归连州公社平云大队。1961年，高垌从平云大队分出，另立大队。1983年改设高垌乡，归连州区管辖；1986年改为村民委员会，1989年5月设管理区，1998年9月恢复村委会。[2]
