沙头村位于罗定市罗平镇，公元1617年有人在此落户建村，初属罗定州一都的开阳乡。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

清末至民国，村地先后归罗定县第二区的团与乡管辖，1942年起归第三区的乡。1950年起隶属第四区的乡，1958年先组入乡片合作社，同年9月划入东风公社，所属一个生产大队。[2]

1961年6月另设沙头大队，归沙两公社，1963年随公社并入罗平公社。1983年撤大队改设乡，1986年复为村民委员会，1989年改为管理区，1993年获评革命老区，1998年又恢复为村民委员会。[2]
