太平村是大方镇下辖的行政村。村委会附近建有太平庙，取平安之意，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，村地属常静都镇力上甲。民国时先属大宁乡，后归大濂乡。1952年设太平乡；1958年村子属大方人民公社，称太平生产大队。1983年成为大方区下的太平乡，设乡人民政府；1987年又设村委会；1989年改为太平管理区办事处，直到1999年才恢复为太平村民委员会。1993年起隶属大方镇人民政府。[1][2]

2019年9月，太平村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年8月，太平村入选首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，产业为巴戟天，名单由广东省农业农村厅公布。[1]
