南溪镇是广东省揭阳市普宁市的辖镇，位于市境东北部，北回归线从镇北部经过。镇域东与榕城区梅云街道接壤，西与揭西县棉湖镇相接，北面隔榕江与霖磐、白塔两镇相望。全镇面积50.18平方千米，下辖1个社区居委会和40个行政村。[1]

镇名取自村中南部的一条河流，镇政府驻地在南溪村。镇政府以“南溪水乡”作为对外的旅游名称，多个村庄沿溪而建。[2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1957年，这一带先建南溪乡，次年改为南溪公社。1974年，广太公社从中析出，南溪公社仍保留原名。1986年设镇。博雅地名网的两处记载对改区的年份不同，一处为1983年，一处为1984年。[2]

更早时，今镇域分属普宁县的钟堂区和第八区。[2]

近年的荣誉有：2018年获评“广东省教育强镇”[1]；2024年3月，镇被命名为「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」，此前的2023年3月，被确定为「广东省2022年度休闲农业与乡村旅游示范镇」。[2]

地理环境[edit]

马（南山）白（塔）公路纵贯镇境西部，县道通往雨堂、钟堂和梅云方向的路线都与省道相接。榕江水运可直达汕头。[2]

人口[edit]

2018年全镇总人口12.8万人。[1] 户籍统计显示，2020年末登记在册的居民为12.82万人，其中农村居民占12.58万人。[3] 维基百科的条目载，2008年户籍人口为113271人。[9]

经济[edit]

农业以水稻和水果为主，博雅地名网载镇内有普宁蕉柑基地。工业行业有抽纱、食品、五金和造船等。[2]

2020年，镇政府把南溪村、北溪村和新溪村的景观连成一条水乡游线路，全长约3公里，以南溪村大港码头为起点，终点在新溪村。该线路当时正在争取「广东美丽乡村精品线路」的认定。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇内的文物古迹分布在各村。南岩古寺位于登峰村飞凤岭，为普宁市文物保护单位，1961年由普宁县人民委员会公布。[5][8]

陈氏宗祠（思源堂）在前寨村，建于明朝；蔡渔隐墓在沂湖村，为明弘治年间的墓葬。两者均为县级文物保护单位。[5]

杨石魂故居（武略第）在钟堂村仁厚里，2008年6月由普宁市公布为文物保护单位，同年两市定为爱国主义教育基地。下尾王村的节孝坊和新溪村的新溪古村，也见于博雅地名网列出的镇内景点。[6][8]

著名人物[edit]

杨石魂（1902年—1929年）生于钟堂村，大革命时期在潮汕和广东的党组织中任职，1929年在武汉被捕，同年牺牲，年仅27岁。[6]

张伟伟是南溪村人，蹦床运动员，获得国际级运动健将称号。[7]
