南山镇是广东省揭阳市揭西县下辖的镇，位于县境中部，镇政府驻南山村。[1][5] 因处大北山南麓，故名南山。[1] 第七次全国人口普查结果显示，全镇人口为2.26万人。[1]

镇内有革命历史遗存，1947年以来潮汕人民抗征队等革命机构曾在境内活动；2025年南山镇入选第三批「百千万工程」典型镇培育创建。[2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1948年4月设南联乡人民政府。1949年4月改设南联区；1950年2月，南联与新龙两区合并，称南龙区。1951年，南山与灰寨划归第三区，1957年撤区改设乡。[1]

1958年10月，南山建立人民公社；1962年社址迁往灰寨，公社改称灰寨人民公社。1966年2月，南山又从灰寨公社中分立出来。[1]

1983年起称南山区，1986年定名南山镇。[1]

经济[edit]

2025年，南山镇重点发展茶叶、苦笋、蔬菜、南药等特色产业，并推进红色旅游。[2]

2024年1至11月，全镇规上工业总产值为1.10亿元，农业总产值为3.32亿元，社会消费品零售总额为2.88亿元。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2024年，南山镇创建「国家卫生镇」通过上级验收。[3]

2025年，南山镇入选第三批「百千万工程」典型镇培育创建，乡镇建设规划获省级审查结果「良好」档次评价。[2]

革命历史与名胜古迹[edit]

1947年6月，潮汕地委在大北山天宝堂召开会议，宣告潮汕人民抗征队成立；该队的司令部等机关1948年5月迁入火炬村，见火炬村。[4]

1948年5月，潮揭丰人民行政委员会在关西三德堂成立，见关西村。[4]

1948年9月，《团结报》社迁至南山镇属的杨梅到村，在天子壁半山坡的小村里办报。[4]

南山革命烈士纪念亭纪念南山、灰寨两地在各个革命时期牺牲的28位烈士，另有1979年对越战争中牺牲的3位烈士一并纪念，合计31位。[4]

著名人物[edit]

刘化南（1910—1969年）、邓赞群（1901—1960年）出生于南山镇。[1]
