上围村位于揭东县城中心，站前大道、上围路、农科路与水厂路在此会合，揭东人民广场就在近旁。村庄分上围、兴盛两个自然村；2009年12月改制为社区居委会（博雅地名网）。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地属揭阳县梅岗都曲溪乡。1949年农会、初级社与高级社相继设立，并入寨内乡；1958年属梅岗公社寨内营，后改为寨内大队；1961年划归曲溪公社；1984年成为曲溪区公所下的寨内乡上围村公所；1986年设上围村委会。[1]

经济与社会[edit]

村民大半从事二、三产业。生态林地900亩，耕地400亩，2009年人均收入为5748元。村里有曲溪吴氏宋代祖墓。2023年11月，上围村入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年，上围村为省级美丽乡村示范村。[3]
