福田社区位于榕江南河畔、渔湖半岛之滨，是一个历史悠久的古村。村中有五百余年的古榕、百年古祠和学武园等古迹。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村庄地处榕江南河之畔，南面有山，村前有溪，榕江水从村旁绕过。村内有三街六巷，中轴线两侧的古屋依「四点金」「五间过」等格局排列。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

学武园又名龙舌尾，据博雅地名网，清代武进士袁黉曾在此习武，后得功名。[1]

村中的百年古祠屹立于古村寨后，祠的左右各有一座四点金公厅相抱，构成三壁连的格局。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村前的古榕已有五百余年，村民视之为村中的标志，闲时常在树下乘凉。[1]

人口与荣誉[edit]

村内人口为1513人，土地约250亩（未注年份）。社区内设有幼儿园、学校和星光老人之家等公共设施。[1]

该村获评的称号有「广东省民主法治示范村」「广东省五四红旗团支部」「共青团揭阳市委青年文明小区」「揭阳市先进卫生村」和「揭阳市妇联先进示范村（社区）」。[1]
