渡头村是潮安区江东镇下辖的行政村，位于江东岛西南端，西面濒临韩江，北接仙洲村，南靠樟厝洲村，东邻谢渡村。村民以李姓为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，渡头的李氏先祖李昆冈，原居东凤镇礼阳村，后移居江东渡头定居，是渡头李氏的始祖。该网站对迁来的年代有两说：一处写作明英宗正统年间（约1436年），另一处写作明朝中期的嘉靖年间（1536年），两说不一，此处仅作“明代中期”。[1]

始祖迁来时，村中已有张、杨、吕、林、柳等姓。至清末，这些姓氏或迁走或失散，只有李姓一直繁衍至今。[1]

1958年公社化时，村属樟厝洲大队；1977年，以村名设渡头大队；1999年改为村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子位于江东岛西南端，西侧即韩江。耕地180亩，鱼塘15亩，土质为沙质，地势较高，排灌条件良好，适宜种植旱园作物和水稻。[2]

文化[edit]

据博雅地名网，渡头的李氏宗祠馨德堂始建于明朝中期，后于清代重修，博雅地名网在此处写作“1800年（清光绪年间）”，但光绪年号始于1875年，两者不合，此处只作“清代”。村西北的古庙为清初所建，1935年迁建至村西南，1950年至1951年因破除迷信被拆毁，1982年重新修建。[1]

1986年，全乡有大学生5人，高中生26人，初中生60人，小学毕业生200余人；2008年大学生已有三十多人，中专、高中毕业者超过200人。[2]

2020年12月，广东省爱卫会授予渡头村「2020年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
