地名由来[edit]
1902年（清光绪二十八年），陆丰县一户李姓人家迁至鳌江渡口北侧立村，称渡头李，后简称渡头。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年此地属葵潭区新湖乡，名渡头村；1953年改属惠来第四区。1958年归鳌江公社，1959年划入葵潭农场，1962年又归鳌江公社。[2]
1974年自东港公社拆出，独立设渡头大队。1983年再并入乡，1987年拆出，单设渡头管理区；1999年起称渡头村委会，沿用至今。[2]
概况[edit]
村子地势低洼，农作物易受浸，防洪排涝是农业生产的主要任务。水田耕地600亩。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。2024年3月，村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
