太平村位于珠江三角洲中南部，在中山西偏北，距小榄镇政府约11.9公里。东面连着白鲤村与永丰，南面接横栏镇横西，西面邻横栏镇四沙，西北接联丰社区，北面与益隆村相邻。[1]

村名来自一个民间信仰的社：先民定居此地后，为求平安，设立了太平社，村名由社名而来。[1]

文化[edit]

相传二圣庙是当地人为纪念康公真君与洪圣大王而兴建，坐落于太平村内。庙宇的第二次重建发生在1902年，1966年曾被拆掉。1991年，香港乡亲集资二十万元，依原样重建，占地面积1069平方米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年称太平村，隶属民生乡。1958年设太平生产营，1959年设太平大队；中途一度用过东风大队的名字，1976年恢复为太平大队。1986年设太平村委会。据博雅地名网所载，2021年6月并入小榄镇。[1]
