新庄村是广东省东莞市洪梅镇下辖的行政村，位于镇以西，与镇区隔一条河相望，望沙公路贯穿全村。政府网站称村辖区面积约1.1平方千米，户籍人口1044人，外来人口2300多人。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

政府网站称，村始建于明末清初。博雅地名网则记，清初番禺大埗蔡下坊派农夫张始球看守田地，他遂定居，取名蔡新庄，1949年后简称新庄。两说的起始年代与由来不同，并存于此。[1][2]

1953年村属洪屋涡乡，归东莞县第十三区（道滘）。1958年村又被划入麻涌公社的洪屋涡大队；1961年回归道滘公社。1981年洪梅人民公社成立后，村称新庄大队。1983年改为新庄乡，1987年设新庄管理区，1999年起改称村委会，沿用至今。[2]

经济与民生[edit]

政府网站（2024年12月发布）称，村辖区内有外资、民营等企业17家，该村集体总资产为一亿五千三百余万元，年收入合计798万元。[1]

村内设有综合服务中心，另有休闲公园、文化广场、老人活动中心和灯光篮球场。群众常开展曲艺表演、龙舟竞渡和体育比赛。[1]

荣誉[edit]

博雅地名网记，2022年1月，村被广东省乡村振兴局列为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。洪梅概况页又称，新庄村与黎洲角村成功创建水乡特色示范村。[2][3]
