大洲社区位于桥头镇的西部，与常平镇、企石镇毗邻，东面紧挨东莞东部工业园的桥头园区。全部面积约5.6平方千米。[1][2][3]

博雅地名网引述地方旧说，北宋末年肖叟公的次子念二公迁居此地，因地势前低后高、面前有塘，取名大洲，此地又称大刁。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网载，1952年，大洲与禾坑组成大禾乡。1958年公社化以后，这里改称大洲大队，1984年改为大洲乡，1987年改为大洲管理区。1998年设大洲村委会，2005年改为大洲社区居委会。[1]

社区概况[edit]

镇政府网站载，集体经济在2025年的总收入约为4180万元，纯收入约3372万元。辖区内市场主体约3300家，其中有87家是规模以上工业企业，55家为高新技术企业。另有13家专精特新企业，以及2家上市公司。[2]

社区内一处工业园区的「工改工」一期项目正在建设，预计2026年底竣工投产。[2]

社区内的历史文化资源有道方莫公祠，以及莫家拳与大洲游会。博雅地名网载，2009年莫家拳列入第三批省级非遗名录。[1][3]
