南社村原名南畬村，是东莞市茶山镇下辖的行政村，位于镇东南部，下辖7个村民小组。村内保存着明清古建筑群，南社是中国历史文化名村，也是中国传统村落。[1][2][3]

历史与建筑[edit]

南社村的古建筑群始建于南宋，主要为明清时期的遗存。景区介绍称，村内现存明清祠堂32座、古民居600余间、历史建筑94处，并有古围墙200米、古门楼5座。[4]

南社村和塘尾村古建筑群为第六批全国重点文物保护单位。南社村有广府民居250多座，祠堂25间，村落以水塘为中心，两岸祠堂相对。[5]

谢氏大宗祠等19处核心建筑被列为全国重点文物保护单位。[4]

荣誉[edit]

南社明清古村落先后获得「全国重点文物保护单位」「全国乡村旅游重点村」「国家4A级旅游景区」与「广东省历史文化游径」等称号，南社村另获「全国文明村」称号。[1][4]

村里于2012年12月入选首批中国传统村落。[3]

2022年，村组两级纯收入为3851万元，总收入则为5115万元。同年，村中一处试点把文化服务与旅游服务两个中心合在一起办，属广东省首批同类试点。[1]
