这个社区处在东城区东部，面积达2.3平方千米，与同沙生态园、黄旗山以及虎英林带相接壤。[1][2]

全社区户籍人口1470人，计420户，另有外来人员约一万五千。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，光明在1949年属第二区的同沙乡，1953年改归第一区，1957年设光明高级农业合作社，隶属篁村大乡。1958年则改由附城公社同沙大队管。1977年，从同沙大队分出，设光明大队，1984年为光明乡，1987年为光明管理区，1998年为村委会，2005年成为社区居委会。概况一页称分出时间为1976年，两者不一致。[1][2]

社区概况[edit]

社区为一级经济，只有一个股份合作社，集体收入以物业出租为主，年收入约2000万元。社区引进了36家规模以上企业。[2]

社区内保留着一座300多年历史的庙宇石出水大仙庙，另有4棵500多年的细叶榕。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2026年初，社区被评为广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村之一。[1]
