下塘村是望埠镇下辖的行政村，位于镇中南部，是革命老区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年曾与莲塘并为连塘大队，1967年分开，成立下塘大队。1983年改设下塘乡，1986年起为村委会，1990年为管理区，1998年10月起复为村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

耕地1457亩，其中水田1247亩、旱地210亩。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

辖7个村民小组，有316户、1565人。[1]

经济[edit]

村民以种植水稻和瓜豆类蔬菜为主，大部分青壮年外出打工。2007年，全村经济总收入为839万元，村集体经济收入为2.85万元。[2]

村委会列出的当前问题有三项：完善乡村道路，加强水利设施，壮大集体经济。[2]

2019年9月，下塘村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
