新和村是三江镇下辖的行政村，属镇乡结合区，由十多个自然村组成。[1]村名寓意团结、和顺。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1938年时，上下岩口、浸谷塘、莫老寨归连县高良下乡的第十保管；石蛤塘、凉水岩、新塘与其余几处则属第十一保。[2]1953年1月，高良下乡改为连南三江联乡办事处辖地，两保的自然村合成新和乡。[2]

1956年合作化时，新岩、新塘各立一个农业社。1958年9月两者并为新和大队，归三江公社；1961年10月复分为新岩、新塘两大队，1963年2月又合为新和大队，1983年9月改乡。[2]

1987年5月，新和乡改为村委会，属三江镇。1989年10月分设新岩、新塘两个管理区，1999年4月改为两个村委会。2005年4月两者合并，称新和村民委员会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

莫老寨村是新和村的一个自然村，它于2023年5月获得「2022年广东省卫生村」称号，由广东省爱卫会颁发。[1]「2023年广东省卫生村」称号在2024年3月授予新和村。[1]

2026年1月，新和村入选「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单中也有新和村，公布于2019年9月。[1]
