石湖村位于石潭镇西北部，离石潭圩约26公里，村域面积约25平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：村委会旧址附近有一块约3亩的平地，平地上有一处较大的泉眼，积水如同湖塘，周围全是石山；古人称之为石湖塘，后来只叫石湖。[1]

1958年成立石湖大队，1983年设石湖乡，1986年改为村委会，1989年划为管理区，1998年恢复为村委会。[1]

2019年9月，石湖村入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2021年9月，石湖村列入第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，以蒲坑茶入选。[1]

地理环境[edit]

全村共23个村民小组，博雅地名网记为956户、4054人（年份未注明）。[1]

耕地面积2651亩，水田994亩，旱地1657亩；林地26212亩，生态林16434亩，商品林9778亩。村内矿产以铁矿为主，岩洞资源也较丰富。[1]
