溪头社区是广东省阳江市阳西县溪头镇下辖的社区，位于镇中心区，是溪头镇政府所在的圩镇一带。[1]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，明清年间此处只是一处小码头，十几户人家聚居于埠边。埠前有一道长长的沙垄，退潮后沙垄一侧露出小溪，屋后有一座高大的土墩和斜坡，当地人称之为“坎”，初名溪坎。1952年前后，因“坎”字不够雅驯，改称溪头。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期及建国初，此地属阳江县第六区，1953年改属第十四区。1956年设为溪头镇生产大队，1957年划归溪头乡，1960年改为居民大队，隶属溪头人民公社。[1]

1987年起称溪头居委会，1988年一度改作街道管理区，1999年重新定为居委会，此名沿用至今。[1]
