太平村位于阳西县织篢镇，村委会驻太平城（古城）内。村内的七贤书院与忠勇祠为明代始建的建筑，阳西县博物馆设于其中。[1][3][4]

地名由来[edit]

村委会驻太平城（古城）城内，故名太平。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年，太平在阳江县第六区内称太平乡；1953年改属第十三区的岗平乡。1956年划入织篢区，1958年5月归织篢乡，当年年底转为织篢人民公社的一部分。1959年改为红卫生产大队下的太平生产队，1983年再设太平乡，1986年设太平村委会。1988年划归阳西县织篢镇，1989年改为管理区，1999年又恢复太平村委会。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

七贤书院始建于明代，原与忠勇祠合为一处，以纪念被贬海南途经阳西的唐宋贤臣。2008年，书院被列为广东省文物保护单位。[3]2018年5月，阳西县博物馆设立于此，以七贤书院及忠勇祠为主体建筑。[4]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，太平村入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
