表竹村是阳东区新洲镇下辖的行政村[1]。

清道光年间，此地称竹溪村。1957年设表竹乡，1959年划入新洲公社，1979年改属三山公社，其后三山区、三山镇先后辖此地，1987年设表竹管理区，1999年设立表竹村委会。2003年三山镇撤销，表竹村委会归新洲镇管辖[1][2]。

2022年8月，该村被确定为2022年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2023年11月，入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村；2024年4月，该村进入省级首批乡村振兴示范村的创建行列[1]。
