碉楼社区是东源县新港镇下辖的社区，位于镇中心区。社区名称来自旧时在山上所建的碉楼：当地山高林密、盗匪横行，人们为防匪患，在今新港镇林业站背后的山上建碉楼，用于瞭望和防御，地名由此而来。[1]

社区早先称新村居委会，1987年改称碉楼居委会，此名沿用至今。[1]
