樟下村为新港镇的行政村之一，原名庄下。村民认为此地是万绿湖畔的风水宝地，又以樟树为吉祥树，遂改名樟下，此名沿用至今。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1999年，东源县政府审批成立樟下村民委员会。此前该地依次为庄下大队（1958年）、庄下乡（1983年）、樟下管理区（1987年）。[1]
文物与古道[edit]
百度百科称，樟下村与斗背村境内保存有较完好的粤赣古驿道，全长7公里。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2024年3月，本村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
