太平村位于连平县高莞镇，早先称“太平围”。明末清初，刘、杨、罗等姓先人陆续迁入，其中刘姓自崇祯八年从兴宁迁来，后成为村中第一大姓。村名由“太平围”一名演变而来。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

解放后先属中平乡，20世纪60年代析出，建为太平大队。1983年设乡，1988年为管理区，1999年成村民委员会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

太平村获评「2020年度河源市文明村」，评选单位为河源市文明委，时为2021年1月。[2]

太平村获「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号，授予者为广东省爱卫会，时间是2021年12月。[2]
