吉祥村是上坪镇的行政村。村名是建村时取吉祥如意的美好寓意。1949年解放后，吉祥与热水、茶活曾共设村政府。[1]

先人建村时取“吉祥如意”的美好寓意为村名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1953年改设吉祥乡政府，1958年改为吉祥管区，1963年为吉祥大队，1983年再设乡政府。1986年起为村委会，1989年一度改为管理区，1999年重设村委会。[1]
