园塘村位于车田镇，四面环山。登上村中心的大鸡婆山居高俯瞰，村落好似一口圆形鱼塘，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年，此地成为车田公社的园塘大队。1983年改设乡，1986年转为村委会，1989年称管理区，1999年重新设立村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

园塘村被评为2022年广东省卫生村，认定时间为2023年5月。[1]
