双头村在埔前镇东部，全村占地约2.8平方公里，分17个村民小组，原是省定相对贫困村。[1]村名与渡口有关：客家人把渡口叫河头，此处有上河头、下河头两个渡口，合称双头。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

双头1949年隶南双乡，1958年人民公社化后编入南双大队；1990年另立双头管理区，1998年区撤销，由村委会管理至今。[3]

村情[edit]

全村961户3675人，其中东埔、罗坝、金鸡、东坑、新屋、田心、长排7个小组是移民小组，移民人口1440人。耕地1900亩，山林30亩；种植水稻、花生和鸡蛋果、木瓜等水果，养殖以鸡鸭为主。村集体年收入约4万元，以山地承包为主。[1][2]村里的双头小学有104名在读学生、12名教师。[2]

荣誉[edit]

河源市文明委在2021年1月评它为2020年度的市级文明村；2026年3月，它列入广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇名单。[1]
