城西社区在甲子镇西部，东面是城东社区，南面是望湖社区，西、北两面与甲西镇相连，是三甲地区的一处交通要地。[1]

据社区介绍，辖区约2平方公里，有3563户、17020人，流动人口有5805人；党员中，正式的93人，预备的5人。居民多以个体经商和外出务工为生。社区设两委干部9人，全区分12个小网格，网格联防员10人、禁毒志愿者50人。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

刘氏宗祠享德堂是陆丰市文物保护单位，在城西的西门街一带。社区介绍还提到西峰古寺，称其为甲子古八景之一，与享德堂只隔一道墙。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

公社化时期属甲子镇农业大队，1961年独立为一个大队；1963年城西与城东并成两城农业大队，直到1973年才又各自分开。此后，1983年叫农管区，1987年设居委会，1994年叫管理区，1999年回到居委会，2002年起为城西社区居委会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，社区入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2020年12月，获广东省爱卫会授予的2020年广东省卫生村称号。[2]
