护径村在上护镇西南，西靠新田镇，南靠河口镇，到镇政府约3.6公里；下辖四个自然村：桥面、桥下，以及沙坑和枝王。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村原属护南大队，1974年分出另立，起名护径大队；又过了二十五年，到1999年，才有“村民委员会”的名称。[2]

地理与经济[edit]

面积约8平方千米，山地约8000亩，耕地约1500亩，聚落连成块状，住宅多用钢筋混凝土。村民以耕种为主、养殖为辅，也有人外出经商打工，或在家种果。[1] 博雅地名网把护径称作老区山区的贫困村，记有242户、1886人。[2]

2024年镇里报道称，护径村前一年出让碳汇，集体增加了18万元收入。[3]

荣誉[edit]

村于2015年和2017年两度获「广东省卫生村」，2021年被评为汕尾市文明村。[1]
