历史沿革[edit]
村名的来由：新中国成立后这一带属河田区上护乡，土改时依方位分为北面的护北乡、南面的护南乡；1958年公社化，两乡改划成三个大队，处在中间的取名护二大队。1999年定名护二村民委员会。[2]
地理与人口[edit]
面积14平方千米，山地约2.3万亩，耕地2320亩，水田占1800亩，旱地占520亩。自然村有11个：上村、下屋、加坑、梅滩、响水、半岭之外，还有南门江、下塘、下布、连上和连下。[1] 博雅地名网的旧介绍记643户、3240人。[2]
温泉与荣誉[edit]
下垅温泉位于村内；近年国企华发的温泉文旅项目落户在此。[1] 2017年村获先进基层党组织称号，2018年又获广东省卫生村。[1]
