鸡坑村位于上护镇中南部，邻洋岭、护径、护二、护南、樟河五村；有9个自然村，寨里、新坜、石船三处之外，还有石窝、径里、麻山、上围、田心和米江。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

鸡坑村民委员会的名称是1999年起用的，一直使用到现在。^[2]

面积7.8平方千米，耕地1300亩；种植奇异果150亩、菠萝60亩、牛大力60亩，火龙果30亩。村户籍总人口3020人，常住约1900人，外出近1000人。村民靠水稻和外出打工为生，村集体年收入约6万元。^[1]

2024年镇里的报道提到，村里修有黄花风铃木景观路和村头小公园。^[3]

2020年得「广东省卫生村」，2021年得先进基层党组织；2026年1月，又列入第二批百千万工程典型村。^[1]^[2]
