护南村在上护镇南部，邻护二、护径两村，有下屋场、吉水、东门和新桥4个自然村，位于镇区周边。[1] 村近年推出“护南香米”品牌。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国后这里是河田区上护乡的一部分；1958年立护南大队；1974年护径大队由它分出；1999年改称护南村民委员会。[2]

地理与经济[edit]

面积6.2平方千米，山地约3000亩，耕地1080亩。种植以水稻为主，约500亩，另有蔬菜豆类玉米350亩、芒果八十多亩、青梅五十多亩和菠萝三十多亩。[1]

2022年，在镇党委和驻镇帮镇扶村工作队的帮助下，村用“党支部+经联社+企业+农户”的模式做香米品牌，形成产供销链条；单是早稻卖出后的分红，就给村集体添了5万元收入。[1] 2020年12月，村获「广东省卫生村」称号；2026年1月，列入第二批百千万工程典型村。[2]
