新南村在海丰县城东南约5公里，属附城镇，下辖仙石、新二、新一、閖口、新城、田寮、和平7个自然村，环绕金龙山而居。中华人民共和国成立前曾称鹿南，1950年改今名。[1]

人口与地理[edit]

户籍1059户5400人，常住481人，总耕地4200多亩，村东隔江与陶河镇相对，南邻汕尾城区红草镇。村落形似一把交椅，旧称金交椅村。[1] 2024年4月，它入选汕尾市“百千万工程”典型村。[2]

古迹与水利[edit]

村南的丽江埔相传曾为南宋文天祥驻扎处，海丰八景之一的“丽江月色”在附近水域。村前耕地靠7千米堤围防护，1966年建成西溪水闸和丽江水闸后，咸潮得到控制。[1]
