新山村是海丰县附城镇东南的行政村，背靠鹿境山，前临丽江河，后绕黄江河，距县城约5千米，是海丰八景“丽江月色”所在地，也是海丰的红色村庄。[1][2]

概况[edit]

村域面积3.6平方千米，山林约4500亩，耕地3000亩，户籍709户3067人，常住843人，分7个自然村。2015年底定为省定贫困村。史载村建于元末明初，距今约700年，村中有明代吕氏祖祠“文献堂”和“河东堂”。[1] 2023年11月，新山村入选广东省“百千万工程”首批典型村。[3]

红色历史[edit]

1923年，在彭湃和蔡素屏宣传农运后，大山脚村（今新山村）成立农会，吕培其任会长，会址设在“义平社”，会员近500人。到1925年，村里组建农民自卫军和赤卫队，队部设在吕培其家，训练场是约800平方米的老灰町。海陆丰武装起义失败后，12名队员被捕杀害于海城老车头，30多名突围者在黄羌粪箕山附近牺牲。[2]

镇政府材料列出了吕培其、吕焕标、吕乃荣等二十多位村中烈士。[2] 荣誉方面，村里得过全国民主法治示范村和全国先进基层党组织的称号，也被评为广东省文化和旅游特色村，并入选“广东十大美丽乡村”。[3]
