可新村在可塘镇东约4公里，东北靠乌面岭山，东与陆丰市接壤，下有龙牙、双桂山、朱厝坑和新兴四个自然村。这里旧称龙牙约，曾设有墟集。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1950年属海丰六区可塘镇，1952年属九区可北乡，1959年从可北大队分出设可新大队；1984年称可新乡，1987年为可新村委会，1989年设管理区办事处，1998年复设村委会。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
居民以周、方等姓为主，六七十年代还迁入了公平水库库区的移民。土地是沙质冲积土，较肥沃，耕地1474亩，水田958亩、旱地516亩，种水稻、番薯、西瓜、甘蔗。古代惠州通往潮州的官道从东北面经过。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2020年12月获「2020年广东省卫生村」称号；2023年4月进入2022年度广东省乡村治理示范村创建单位的名单；2026年1月，被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
