罗西村在可塘镇西南端，与陶河镇隔河相望，离镇区约8公里，辖蔡厝围、陈厝围两个自然村，居民分蔡、陈两姓。因地处旧罗山约的西部，得名罗西。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
罗西大队是1959年从罗南大队划出7个自然村（含蔡厝围、陈厝围两地和黄厝港一带）而设；1987年成为村委会，1989年一度称管理区办事处，1998年恢复村委会。黄厝港部分后来于1988年分出，另立村委会。[1][2]
经济[edit]
地势低，遇大暴雨易受淹；过去交通不便，约三分之二的村民外出谋生，留下大量空置房屋。留村者以种田为业，耕地1257亩，作物单一为水稻。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2024年3月被命名为2023年广东省卫生村。[1]
