黄厝港村位于可塘墟西南的冲积平原，隔河同陶河镇相望，辖黄厝港、新乡、潭围三个自然村，以黄、吴两姓为主。[1] 全村原来都姓黄，加上有曲折的港湾绕村，故名。[1]

清道光二十三年（1843年）癸卯科举人黄汉宗是此村人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网称，明正统年间有福建莆田的黄姓人迁此立村。1952年起在九区罗北乡，1958年编入罗南大队，次年独立为黄厝港大队，1961年并入罗西大队，直到1988年再分出，成立现在的黄厝港村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村落沿河呈西北—东南的长条形，有水泥村道连五罗公路，水路经东溪、西溪出海。耕地1190亩，盛产稻谷，村民兼种蔬菜。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2023年5月获广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
