赤石村在赤石镇中心，村委会设在赤石圩，面积11平方千米，也是镇政府所在的村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

乾隆年间日隆市改称赤石圩。1950年属第四区赤石乡，1958年设赤石大队，隶鲘门乡；次年改隶圆墩乡，1960年又转赤石公社。此后历经赤石乡（1984年）、赤石镇的村委会（1987年）、管理办事处（1989年），1998年重新设村委会，沿用至今。[1]

地理与经济[edit]

村设7个村民小组，合计2390人。耕地2620亩，山地9663亩。村民种稻、番薯和葛薯，也种蔬菜、西番莲和柑橘，养鸡鸭；村内有库容17万立方米的长坑水库。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内保存新厝林古寨和金石古寨两座古寨。[1]新厝林古寨在赤石圩西侧约1公里，清乾隆年间由林氏先人所建。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2026年3月，赤石村被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
