明溪村在赤石镇西北部，四面环山，离集镇约9公里，面积25.5平方千米，博雅地名网称它是革命老区。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年属第四区赤石乡，1952年属明热乡，1974年从明热大队分出，设明溪大队。1984年改明溪乡，1987年改明溪村委会，1989年称管理办事处，1998年复设村委会。^[1]

村分明溪、石桥、石角、龙湖、排沙5个村民小组，共116户564人；耕地1087亩，山地36024亩。作物有稻、番薯、葛薯、花生、柑橘和西番莲。2005年村里花110多万元修了一条5公里长的水泥路通到村委会，2006年引资380多万元建成装机500千瓦的金生肚水电站。^[1]^[2]
