西兴社区在汕尾市城区香洲街道西侧，由霞洋、铺上两个村合成。东与新兴、兴祥两社区相邻，南临大海，西接梧桐村，北靠山，与红草镇分界。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初，这里属东冲区香州乡；人民公社时期设西联大队，归香洲公社。1989年设西联管理区，隶香洲街道；1999年起称西兴居委会。[1]

人口与建设[edit]

博雅地名网载辖区约6平方公里，总人口2249人、500户。1995年至2008年，社区在集体公共建设上投入共650万元，建有集体楼房3座和一所完全小学。[1]
