上翁村是兴宁市黄陂镇的行政村，村情资料记全村482人、96户，耕地180亩，山林4800多亩。村内的温公水库是兴宁市第二大水库。[1][2]

名称由来[edit]

村子原叫翁公溪。相传百年前村民多姓翁，村里有一条小溪从江西境内流来，村子在溪的上游，所以叫“上翁”，下游的一村则叫下翁。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

更早的1957年办农业社时，这里叫翁溪社。1963年立上翁大队后，1983年改为乡，1987年成了管理区，再到1999年定名上翁村委会，直到现在。[1]

温公水库[edit]

温公水库在村境内，博雅地名网称它为兴宁市第二大水库，集雨面积56.2平方千米，库容1497.2万立方米。[1]百度百科的条目则说水库在黄陂圩北面7公里，1958年冬动工、次年春建成，是合水水库上游的中型水库，以防洪为主，兼顾灌溉和发电，灌溉面积6048亩；经扩建后坝高36.3米、坝长117米，最大库容2077万立方米。[2]
