罗岗镇是广东省梅州市兴宁市北部的镇，西与河源市龙川县交界，下辖1个社区和30个行政村。[1][2]全镇面积约155.95平方千米，镇域内山地多、水田少，是兴宁北部诸镇的中心，也是革命老区。[1][3]

名称与历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网记，罗岗建镇在明代后期。相传客家先民由闽、赣中南部迁往兴宁之前，已有罗、江两姓在此居住，地名先作「罗江」；客家话里「江」「岗」同音，这一带又多山岗，后来写成「罗岗」。[1]

解放战争末期的1949年5月，兴宁解放，当年6月罗岗设区；之后几年区的名称和归属多次调整：1950年4月叫罗黄区，5月划入浮岗区（第五区），至1951年10月又以罗岗区（第五区）之名存续到1956年底。[1]1957年初，区分为罗东、罗西两乡；1958年9月起办罗岗人民公社；1978年4月，公社一分为三，即罗岗、官庄、霞岚；至1983年11月三者复合，改称区。1987年4月区改为镇，即今日的罗岗镇。[1]

镇内各行政村的名称多由1950年代以来的乡、大队、管理区沿袭而来，1999年起统称村民委员会。[4]

地理与人口[edit]

百度百科称，镇四面环山，距兴宁市区约40公里，历史上称兴宁「北六中心」；东邻黄陂镇、黄槐镇，西接龙川县，南连大坪镇，北靠罗浮镇。[3]镇内有省道S226线（罗大公路）和X014线（甘罗公路）。[3]

博雅地名网所引的镇情介绍说，镇域山地约19.1万亩，水田约1.76万亩，面积在兴宁市居第二。[2]该介绍载全镇人口66285人（非农业4514人），是全市农村人口最多的镇。[2]2020年第七次全国人口普查时常住人口为3.44万人。[1]居民为汉族，讲客家话。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

善述围在柿子坪村，为四堂四横四角楼围屋，建筑占地3638平方米，有20个厅、25个天井和354间房。[5]据百度百科，围屋由袁氏十八世袁述初于清光绪十年（1884年）动工，光绪二十三年（1897年）建成；2009年被兴宁市公布为「兴宁市十大古民居」，2012年10月列为第七批广东省文物保护单位。[5]

红旗村有红色交通站遗址，属近现代重要史迹，为兴宁市级文物保护单位。[1]五福村在1926年建立过红色政权，称五福苏维埃政府，村名因此改为五福。[4]柿子坪村于2012年入选首批中国传统村落。[6]
