黄垌村在坭陂镇东南部，距兴宁城区20公里，村域1.2平方公里，常住人口1248人（2022年）。[2]

地名由来[edit]

村里房屋周围原有水塘，最初叫「黄塘围」，后因读音相混，改作「黄垌围」，再简称黄垌村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

黄垌大队建于1978年，1989年9月改为管理区，1999年4月复称村。[1]

黄垌围[edit]

百度百科称，村内的黄垌围始建于清代，已有四百多年历史，流传「金鸡报晓落黄垌」的建村传说；围龙屋内向来重视教育，出过刘宇新、刘焕彬等人。2018年黄垌围大屋被授予梅州市级「文化祠堂」称号，2019年挂牌。[2]
