古丁村在仁居圩约15公里处，杨氏为开基姓氏，村名有两种来历的说法。[1]

名称由来[edit]

一说明嘉靖十二年（1533年），杨氏先人从福建连城迁居于此，住地势高，每到一家都像登山，故称「古登」。另一说杨氏开基祖三义公带全家十口男丁南迁，在黄畲河边安营，遇山洪冲毁房屋田地，迁到高处居住，据说祖父说一家十口丁南迁至此，「十口丁」便是古丁。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初期是独立的乡，1958年起改为生产大队；其后名称屡改，1987年设村民委员会，1989年改作管理区，1999年又恢复村民委员会的名称，沿用至今。[1]

概况与荣誉[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，全村下设11个村民小组，在册444户、1780人，面积11.84平方公里，耕地1630亩；种烤烟1200多亩，另种甜玉米、生姜。[1]2019年9月，古丁村进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
