社南村在仁居圩西北约3.3公里，村名来自邹坊八角亭下河岸边一棵叫「社官」的大树。[1]
名称由来[edit]
早年邹坊八角亭下方的河岸上有棵称作「社官」的大树，村子在它的南面，所以叫社南。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初期是独立的乡，1958年起改为生产大队；其后名称屡改，1987年设村民委员会，1989年改作管理区，1999年又恢复村民委员会的名称，沿用至今。[1]
概况与荣誉[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，全村下设9个村民小组，在册236户、945人，面积8.25平方公里，耕地1100亩，种脐橙2000多亩。[1]2019年9月，社南村进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
