上远村在仁居圩西南约6公里，2026年3月入选广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年上远同西洋、黄沙坑、白沙坑一起组成上岸乡；1956年办农业高级社时它分了出来，划属仁居，才定名上远。1958年起为生产大队，1978年一度划归黄畲公社；其后名称屡改，1987年设村民委员会，1989年设管理区，1999年重又叫村民委员会，一直沿用。[1]

概况与荣誉[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，全村下设12个村民小组，在册132户、554人，面积5.36平方公里，耕地900亩；种西瓜、甜玉米、花生、烤烟。[1]2019年9月，上远村进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2026年3月，被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
