因位于联新村以西而得名。[1]

联西在1950至1980年是生产大队，此后乡政府的名称用于1981至1985年，管理区的名称用于1989至1998年，1999年起设村民委员会。[1]

村里主要种植水稻、烤烟。据博雅地名网，村里一年的经济总收入约1381万元（所指年份未注明）。[1]

荣誉[edit]

名胜古迹[edit]
