据村里的说法，取名是盼望在这里建成一座幸福安康的小城。[1]

1949年前后，这里叫福城乡。其后建制屡变：1958年立大队，1983年又称乡政府，1989年设管理区，至1999年才定为村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村里主要种植水稻、桃驳果、绿茶，其中桃驳果、绿茶是特色收入来源。据博雅地名网，村里一年的经济总收入约1172万元（所指年份未注明）。[1]
